Cartography & Workshops in Sheffield

Next week Cartography is starting the ‘away’ part of our tour with three dates at the very, very, cool Theatre Deli in Sheffield. As well as doing three shows (26th-28th) we’re also offering workshops to provide an insight into the way we make our work.

The workshops we are offering are:

Writing: It’s like the A1(M)
Writing is about making things up, characters, stories and motorway metaphors (or similes). Equally writing is about articulating all those brilliant things, so this workshop is about structure, rhythm, subtext and the techniques used by devisers, theatre makers and playwrights.
Starts at 11am

Devising: It’s also like the A1(M)
There are lots of ways to devise theatre and we have borrowed from lots of them, now we’re inviting you to do the same. We’ll talk about exploring subject matter, structuring devised work and the relationship between content and form.
Starts at 2pm

The workshops are Pay What You Think, so you don’t have to spend any money up front. You can book your place by contacting the lovely Sarah from Theatre Deli by emailing
